Registration and ID Cards

Registration / RPW ID Cards - All Residents are required to register with River Place West and a River Place ID will be issued. This ID will allow access to River Place services and privileges, including the gym, swimming pool, lockout services, and usage of the loading dock and freight elevator during moves or special deliveries.

TO REGISTER, PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING TO THE CONCIERGE :  

  • Valid Lease (Unless you are the owner)
  • $25 Registration Fee
    • Check or Money Order only
    • This fee is per person, not apartment
  • Current government issued photo identification
  • All Occupants (Must be on Lease to receive RPW ID card )

In addition to your RPW ID card, a copy of the River Place West Rules and Regulations (DOC 117 KB) will be provided at registration.

RPW ID Card Renewal - Your ID card will expire when your lease does. For a free renewal please provide the front desk  a copy of your new lease or lease renewal.

River Place West Amenities

Concierge Desk - The front desk is staffed every day from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Lunch break is from 1:00-1:30 p.m. and dinner from 8:00 - 8:30 p.m. The concierge receives packages for resident pick up, provides key service, coordinates freight elevator use, and provide storage room key control for current bin users. <contact info>
 




Party Room - The party room is available for use by residents. Located on the lobby level, it has kitchen and bath facilities. The room may be used only while the concierge is on duty. Contact the Concierge Desk to make a reservation. There is a $100 security deposit required for use of this service. The Fire Marshall has set the maximum occupancy of the Party Room at any time at 30.

Laundry - The laundry room is located on the first floor next to the elevators. A laundry card is required for access to the room and for payment. These cards can be purchased from a wall-mounted machine across from the elevator on the first floor for $5. Please note you must insert a $5 bill to receive a card. This same card machine also adds value to your card. This initial card will not contain any value. Once you have a card, you may enter it back into the value station and add increments of $5, $10 and $20. A load of laundry currently costs $1.50 to wash and $1.25 to dry. *Cards from the other River Place buildings will not work in our Laundry room.*

Freight Elevator - The freight elevator (Elevator on Right) can be reserved by residents free of charge. To make a reservation. Move in/out  please call the Front Desk at 703-527-1728. The time is allotted in 4 hour blocks between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Vending - Newspaper, snack, and beverage machines are located on the first floor.

Storage



Storage Closets - About two individual storage closets exist on each floor, available for residents or shareholders to rent at a monthly rate. Please contact the management office to rent an available closet, or to sign up on a waiting list for an occupied space.

Storage Bins - The storage room on the first floor contains wood-framed and chicken-wired storage bins. The storage room key is held by the concierge. Bins are currently available for rental. Other River Place Amenities

Entertainment Center (Gym) - The new and improved River Place Entertainment Center attached to River Place South opened its doors on July 5, 2006. The new center includes state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment along with a sauna, steam room, shower facilities, pool tables, and ping pong tables. This is a major improvement from the previous design. We now have more space for exercise and leisure equipment, TVs suspended from the ceiling, relocation of the steam room and sauna to the area just outside the locker rooms, and more. We are so pleased with the results so if you haven't already visited the center, please do so and thank the Owner's Association Manager, Ms. Christie Bereute for her efforts in bringing this project to fruition. Swimming Pool - The River Place swimming pool is located in the center of the River Place grounds. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, lifeguards are on duty during all hours of operation. There are hot tub and shower facilities on premises. Guest passes are available at the Entertainment Center and not at the pool itself. River Place ID required.

 

Loading Dock Passes - 30 minute loading dock passes are available from the gate house for loading and unloading. For repair vehicles and move-in/move-out, coordinate with the Management Office.

Lockout Service - Lockout service is available from the Management Office during regular business hours at no charge. After hours, visit the River Place gate house for lockout service. Bring your River Place ID. After hours lockout service fee must be paid in cash.

River Place Market  - The River Place Market is conveniently located outside your front (or back) door.  The market is centrally located in the middle of the four River Place buildings.  You will find frozen foods, fresh produce, fresh coffee, DVD rentals, beer/wine, daily newspapers and plenty of snacks.   Valet (dry cleaner), and Salon are located in the middle of the River Place grounds by the swimming pool.

 

River Place Dry Cleaners -  centrally located in the middle of River Place.  Drop off your dry cleaning but  never leave the River Place grounds.  Super convenient.

River Place Hair Salon -  River Place offers the amenities that you need without having to leave your own community.  With its own hair salon outside your door, you really cannot get anymore convenient!

Picnic Areas - Two picnic areas, with picnic tables and grills, are available for use by residents. However, there is a $50 fully refundable deposit that must be paid to the Owner's Association Office prior to using either area.  Please contact the Owner's Association Office at (703) 276-9810.

Neighborhood Activities

There are a number of community events either within walking distance or a short Metro / Georgetown Connector ride from River Place. The following events occur regularly. Seasonal events are noted. All events are accessible to handicapped persons.

Millennium Stage - The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts free performances every evening at 6 PM on the Millennium Stage. Take the Metro Orange Line 1 stop to Foggy Bottom and either walk or catch the free Kennedy Center Shuttle every 15 minutes until midnight. The Kennedy Center is home to the National Symphony Orchestra and hosts a full schedule of performance events.

Rosslyn Farmers Market - May through November. On Thursdays, 11 AM to 4 PM. Local growers sell fresh produce. In Metro Park across Lynn Street from Olson's Books.

Rosslyn Spectrum - The Rosslyn Spectrum Theatre and Conference Center hosts stage performances and film screenings. Enjoy jazz, Caribbean, chamber, and a cappella music, live theatre, and an annual film festival. The gallery in the lobby features rotating exhibitions by visual artists from Arlington. U.S. Marine Corps Sunset Parade - Summer months. The U.S. Marine Band and the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team perform a sunset parade every Tuesday evening at the Marine Corps Memorial, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial. Walk south on Lynn Street 2 blocks. Free.

U.S. Army Band Concerts - Winter months. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the U.S. Army Band performs at Fort Myer, featuring ensembles and soloists. Free. Fort Myer is just south of River Place. Due to heightened security, call for base entry instructions. (703) 696-3399.

Washington Walks - April thru October. Walking tours of DC points of interest led by licensed and knowledgeable guides. Tour DC's neighborhoods, Embassy Row, "America's Main Street" Pennsylvania Avenue outside the White House, and an evening tour of the Lincoln Memorial called Goodnight, Mr. Lincoln. $10 adults, $5 children. Neighborhood Attractions

Bike Trails - Visit our transportation page for information on local bike trails.

Arlington Cemetery - See the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, visit the Eternal Flame at President John F. Kennedy's grave, and visit the Robert E. Lee Memorial at Arlington House. Head left on Lynn and cross park grounds at Iwo Jima Memorial to enter through cemetery gates. Or take Metro 1 stop on Blue Line to Arlington Cemetery.

Iwo Jima - The U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in defense of the United States since 1775. The park grounds offer sweeping views of the Potomac and national monuments across the river. Go left on Lynn for 2 blocks.

Jack's Boathouse - Jack's rents canoes and kayaks daily on the Potomac. 3500 K St. NW, Washington, DC. Cross the Key Bridge on the north (left) side and go down the steps to the street level below. (202) 337-9642.

Theodore Roosevelt Island Park - This wooded island lies in the Potomac River between Rosslyn and Georgetown. Stroll through the trails and visit the memorial plaza in this urban sanctuary. Head right on Lynn 2 1/2 blocks and go right on the Mt. Vernon bike trail just before the Key Bridge. The Island is a short walk down the paved trail.
